Our Story (Mo'olelo)

Aloha, my name is Maka and I am a musician from the Big Island of Hawaii. Each day I am blessed to share the gift of Aloha through music with people from all over the world. Now I would like to share a different form of artistic expression with you.

I have worked with several local artists to create designs that reflect the sentiment of Aloha. But do not mistake our Aloha here in Hawaii as a weakness. My people are strong!

"AINA" means our land, our people, our hearts. None of that is for sale. It never was. It never will be! Aloha Aina is everything.

I hope you love these designs as much as we do and wear them with pride! By wearing these shirts your telling the world that you stand with the Hawaiian people. By wearing these shirts, you are telling the world that you are NOT for sale!

Aloha and Mahalo for your support!

As many of you may already know, Lahaina, Maui was just decimated by fire. Many   of our friends and family have lost everything. Many of our family and friends have lost their lives. Many are missing and unaccounted for. Many of the survivors are now taking their own lives or turning to drugs and alcohol!

However, all hope is not lost.

What can we do to help?

I'm glad you asked!

Several individuals and groups have reached out to me to bring music and ukuleles to the victims of the fires. It is amazing what music can do to lift the soul! There is no cell phone, WiFi or radio service in West Maui.

There is a need for music in Maui!

I am planning to start by taking ukuleles to Hana, Maui this fall. Several families from Lahaina are there now. Any monies collected from this merchandise will go directly to my youth music education camp "He Makana Aloha"

He Makana Aloha is our youth music education camp that provides music lessons and ukuleles to youth around the Hawaiian Islands
